Aftermath & New ID?

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 20, 2009, 6:24 AM

Aftermath & New ID

So there is one more thing one should actually think about when trying to shot at the coast: Wind. I never had a problem at the Pacific Coast or the Japanese Sea but the North Sea Coast is quite something different; it was impossible to get one sharp image due to the wind shaking my tripod. I really wonder how other photographers take sharp images with such strong winds. Maybe I should read some tutorials about how to increase the weight of a tripod for such occasions. Everything over 1 sec was already totally trashed. And I actually wanted to get something above 1 minute. So that was pretty much a lead balloon. To my surprise I found the time to do some further experiments with multiple exposures yesterday and some of the images turned out to be pretty amazing; I guess I might as well stick to that method for now in terms of noise. Sadly the next trip I'll be making won't be until Christmas. I decided to leave for Risum (a small village near Sylt - North Sea coast again) until then I really need to work out a strategy to stabilize my tripod in the wind.

I'll be getting some new IDs tomorrow since my band decided to get new professional pictures taken. Since we decided on an outdoor shoot around noon I hope the weather will be good enough for some directional lighting (that's the big advantage of winter and the suns low angle: you have directional light most of daytime). So I hope I'll get a new ID for DeviantART as well, because my current one doesn't really display me but rather the great beauty of the Tetons ... Which reminds me I should edit some more of me USA photos...

See you around ...

Print Services

After several of my friends showed interest in getting a printed version of my USA shots I wondered where to actually print them. Since I have alot of different formats, sizes and frames it'd have to offer alot of different options. Also it would have to be affordable not like DAs Print Option which I would only use for international stuff not for local friends. If anyone reads this and gave me some advice I'd be very thankful.

2nd Feature

I figured since I have a nice Premium Acc. I should start featuring people even despite the fact I don't have much people who watch me or my journals

The second deviant I would like to introduce is ~Johada, is a portait photographer who did some amazing live photography for my band. I really like most of her pictures not only because of the nice looking models she photographes but also for the distinct sharpness and well executed concepts.
