Another shot from Praia de Malhao although on a different evening, after shooting the beach for an evening and checking out almost all the other spots we had on our map :devemats and I decided to revisit this spot before heading home so this shot if from our last sundown in Portugal. This is a manual blend of four exposures to optimize the dynamic width although my K5 has a pretty impressive dynamic depth to begin with so most of the image is actually only two layers and the additional two were mainly used for the reflexion in the water.
When we were at the same spot a week prior the tide was way higher thus not revealing the nicely green, algae covered stones in the foreground nor the trickles the receding tide caused so I was really excited to play with these very photogenic elements. I probably shot around a hundred pictures during this sunset. And the light conditions 20 minutes after the sun had vanished were absolutely crazy the sky literally exploded and SvenMueller
was yelling across the beach because he was so amazed by the great display of colors the sky offered. I'll also be editing and uploading some of those shots when I get around to do so. In the meantime I hope you enjoy this shot as much as I do.
Here's the sundown shot from a week earlier:
And a shot 20 mins later:
